Thread regarding W.W. Grainger Inc. layoffs

EVERY SINGLE ONE OF the Grainger employees were so comfortable

I worked for Grainger for 3.5 years and saw all of this coming from day one of my hire. The only reason I saw this coming is because I knew that these dramatic changes will take place within 5 years from my hiring date which was early 2012. So I gave myself a 5 year plan to gain the experience and run for the hills. I left early 2015 and it was the best choice I made. I tell you, I've never seen more relaxed and comfortable people as the Grainger Employees I felt so bad for them. To see them satisfied and in their comfort zone as if they are untouchable just because they all have double digit year tenure ship. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF the Grainger employees were so comfortable they all wreaked of fakeness and arrogance as though GRAINGER is heaven and there is no other world out there. I hope top management would read this, every single Manager, Director, executive and up to the CFO and CEO, you all should be replaced immediately. You pretend to care about the employees and it seems as though the employees fell for it. In reality all you care about is you own position.

That account is a bunch of B.S. Account Managers are NOT laid off at Grainger. The only reason an Acct Mgr. may lose their job is to poor performance or personal & attitude issues. What that person wrote is an absolute lie.

I am also one of those double digit year tenured employees, I can tell you employees stuck around for so long because they were HAPPY and Grainger is not looking out for there worker at this point. One of my operations managers read me a letter to the shareholders, it bought tears to my eyes. It read we are proud to announces we have save millions by the reducing employees, and will continue... you will gain tremulously from these cut backs. They are sending the jobs over seas and the quality of service has dropped, I get complaints on a daily bases of how my accounts are being handled.

They are not looking out for the people within !!!!!!! Signed very upset account manger.

You keep thinking they care about you!!!!!!

You sound like a disgruntled employee and I suspect you were fired. As one of those double digit year tenured employees, I can tell you employees stick around for so long because they are HAPPY and they know Grainger is a great company to work for. Use your brain. Of course the company has to protect their bottom line. If they don't, there will be no company to work for. It's obvious Grainger is much better off without you and I feel sorry for any employer who chooses to employ such a spiteful, two-faced cretin like yourself. What is happening now to many Grainger employees is very sad, but it's a necessary transition for the company. And I can assure you that the employees being laid off are well taken care of by Grainger in more ways than one. You would be hard pressed to find any company out there going to the lengths that Grainger goes to. Good riddance to you.

Correction to the above (I am not the OP): Grainger only looks out for its bottom line and their shareholders. The company will always protect the company, not the people within it.
