Kmart was the Ross of the 70s they were closeout stores like zodys but face it walmart has direct deals with chinese manufacturing they don't need to rely on rejects from Macys they can get junk directly and pay almost nothing for it.
The jeans that used to wear out in 3 years now rip to shreds in six months and no one cares! The end wasn't a few years ago it started in 1981 when Reagan took control and got rid of all the unions and all the manufacturing went overseas.
Imagine downtown centers like Los Angeles and New York actually had garment districts where they actually made clothes there!
