Thread regarding Mattel Inc. layoffs

There's always that ONE slimy negative person in the office spreading malicious gossip and dissent in the workplace.

There's this little shit in ES that I can almost guarantee that their divisiveness has caused a few folks to lose their jobs because they always spoke down about them (some of the people reported to this person) to their directors, spread malicious rumors, and just be a black cloud of unhappiness regardless of how well things were going. Of course the directors fell in love with this person because they always spewed their venom and the director was highly entertained by their venom. I now sit two desks away and constantly hear the vile shit coming out of this persons mouth and want to cave their head in. Disgusting how someone has upper management's protection and yet causes such animosity in the workplace.

I sometimes think HR is the worst offender. There has always been evil people in HR, but seems to be getting worse each day. Sad, but true. I love the idea of recording it and play it back for that person's family or even better at a meeting. . .

I think that evilness exists everywhere and evil protects evil. Makes working in such an environment very difficult. As the saying goes, one bad apple. . .

That's because it's the same 3 people in their mutual admiration society who lather one another's asses on a daily basis. A few dim bulbs to overlook all the low morale in the office.

I find it hard to believe that NYC has these types of people after all the love they post to each other on this board. stop trying to stir the pot and breed dissent amongst one of the more successful better functioning divisions in Mattel. ES and EA should take a page from their playbook and learn how a well functioning division truly operates.

HR is only on the side of the Company so just do your own job & be sure to document only the unjust things that apply to you directly. Mind your own business as there is no such thing as an "anonymous note" to HR if you are employed there. They will find you.........Get out & don't hate....... relocate. The company is in trouble in a big way.

I disagree. If you get on this person's bad side then you become the target. Bad enough we have rolling layoffs and if they are that well liked by upper management then your actions will not only fall on deaf ears but Upper mgmt. will label you as not being a team player. Don't add extra stress to an already unnecessarily stressful job. Steer clear. Maybe drop an anonymous note to HR?

So who is more evil? The person spreading the gossip or the person who sees this happening and does nothing about it but vents on an anonymous site? Let me answer that, the person spreading the gossip is more evil but you're a little evil too. You should get off your ass and confront the situation. Tear that person a new one! Maybe secretly record the gossip when it's happening and play it back for that person's family. Show people how despicable they are. Get creative with this. Have fun with it! You do work for a company that's supposed to be about fun after all.
