Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Questions for next month's Global Townhall with John Watson: The Questions You Relly Want To Ask.

We all know too well of the lame softball and pre-screened questions that get asked at the annual Global Townhall teleconferences. Most of us tune in or show up in the auditoriums around the offices worldwide only to find out what the corporate factor will be for the CIP bonus. We then tune out or excuse ourselves to not have to listen for another 30 to 45 minutes. Let's use this forum to ask the Real Questions you'd like to ask Watson, but won't dare do so in person or by traceable email.

Chevron has more influence than the 100-smallest countries.

In the supply/demand model we seem to have no control over the supply-side.

Can we use our influence on the demand-side?

  • Can we influence world leaders to invigorate the Asian economy?

  • Can we encourage the increased use of fuels (eg, desalination in California)?

  • Can we get a government loan (too big to fail?) then buy up OPEC and Iran when they collapse?

This is an #EpicThread - I wish people had courage to ask the questions listed here in a real Town Hall environment - I know for SURE that some executives are reading this board and this may be very educational for them - WAKE UP!

Mr. Watson,

With the price of oil in the low $30s, what do you expect the price of LNG to be when Wheatstone is finally selling?

Mr. Watson, what is the probability that there will be many more layoffs this year at Chevron? What number are you willing to tell us?

Mr. Watson, did you invest some of your stock options in the Power Ball lotto?

The CVX dividend is the only reason the stock is not at $30. The dividend will only be cut when the company splinters and pieces are bought up by Exxon or Berkshire Hathaway. The stupidity of many of these posts from "engineers" shows CVX is not managed as a business, but appears to be run by old petroleum engineers with a few HR gays and African Americans mixed in for show.

John Watson, If CVX stock fails to break $90 by the end of summer will you resign, please?

Mr. Watson, I have 3 questions.

1) When will Chevron finally start a ROM for Managers and Supervisors? We need to get rid of many useless idiots ruining our company.

2) Will there be a need to lower the 401k match from 8% if oil prices don't go up soon? Lord knows you don't want to touch the dividend.

3) Will Chevron be tweaking the Pension Plan in any way?

John,

Unfortunately this great company is feeling the impact of external factors resulting in serious financial pain and significant impacts on loyal, hardworking and diligent employees - many who are no longer employed here.

I have more than one question.

1) What real lessons learned will be applied following delivery performance on some current MCP's?

2) How many folks up to 2 levels below you have been shed? I do not mean retire.

3) Will the dividend be cut during 2016 - assuming prices stay close to current? Simple Yes or No response please.

4) Who will succeed you?

Thanks!

qrg obviously knows nothing about capital markets. The stock price has nothing to do with potential layoffs.

mnj, did someone from GOMBU in Louisiana imply during a conversation that you actually have to be PRODUCTIVE to earn a paycheck? If so, I'm certain that you can conjure up an apology from somewhere in HR. In the meantime, clean up your resume. You are obviously a piece of dead wood and will be getting cut soon, sweetheart. You can thank me later.

They touch the dividend and the stock will plummet. Then more layoffs ensue. Which do you prefer @yhs
