I have used tactics that are highly questionable for the past 5 years and that's why I'm a good fit at EDMC I could go on forever telling you about the shit that I do, but I won't.
I went to a state school, they told me exactly how much in loans I had and how much my monthly payment would be from day one. 4 years of school cost me the same as 2 years at an edmc school. Sad to see so many people getting scammed by your "all colleges do this" delusion.
No they send staff to high schools in the inner city to get those poor kids. Slippery rock just hired someone to do that.
So they have a staff of tools that sit in a stinky corporate office and told they have to make numbers by using the pain funnel to abduct innocent unsuspecting youth into a life of debt at the cost of others. You schmucks that work for EDMC are just tools for a corporation. EDMC recruits to steal federal money, which in fact is your own money idiot.... you are stealing from yourself! It's called a Ponzi scheme. You are the lowest rung on the pyramid.
Yeah State Schools don't recruit anyone... Except for Penn State, Ohio State, insert any state school with academic and sports programs. They also run ads to go there because tradition and your dad went there. Cost? Can you put a cost on being able to say you went there? Don't worry about it financial aid has your back. It's a f---ing joke all around.
11% of all enrollments and almost half of the total student loan defaults. I would say the for-profit sector is a pretty big factor in the student loan debt crisis.
State schools don't have recruiters soliciting with hounding tactics on the phone and deceitful TV adds that they run on TV and the internet as spam! All of us are going to work just as relaxed as we want on Monday. Not a thing you can do about it. Buy us some doughnuts PC lackeys and none of that team building B.S. crap next week either.
Spider to the fly. What a joke. The hypocrisy to target only for profit and leave out regular universities is ridiculous. Notice how all of student debt is the crisis. It's not a for profit only crisis. Talk to anyone that leaves high school and goes to a 4 year school. They have zero idea how much in loans they are using. Only that the school takes care of it, it's enough to go, and they get a stipend. The whole industry is a joke and full of predatory practices.

The article doesn't even name the tactics. They told you to go to school now rather than wait? Unbelievable. They provided you with the paperwork you willingly signed and then processed it? Unheard of. Job rates misled you? This is the real world, it's not handed to you, some leg work on your side is required.
The job rates might be the only legit complaint but as anyone from nearly any school can tell you, a degree doesn't guarantee anything. Hard work starts in school and continues after. This stuff isn't handed to you.
