It has been this way for a number of years now. Take all the dumb re-org announcements that come out every other minute.... Paragraphs on paragraphs of who is moving where , where they came from, who is reporting to who. Not one about vision or strategy for how we are going to to make our brands strong, where the next new ideas are going to come from, who is going to lead these charges and why. Just boring corporate speak about reporting structures. Or overarching statements like Donald Trump spouts....we are going to make our company great again. Blah blah. Well I want to know HOW?? The truth is we have no real talent at the top. No visionaries. Just posers collecting very big paychecks.

failing upwards is a prime example of the mattel path for promotion, unfortunately it has been the blueprint for failure which everyone but the morons in power see.
Sadly the only thing SL is good at launching is food into her mouth... she is the textbook definition of failing upwards.
Hmmm the plot thickens, not GS?? In any case, whoever the creative in question is no doubt found what many of us found---sanity and redemption. There IS other life in the universe folks! A good life where life isn't dictated by lunatics running an out of control asylum. You get to stretch your creative muscles and it feels great!! Don't be seduced by half day Friday! Whether it's working for smaller up-and-comers or the other big guns - or even yourself(!) The life you can't imagine IS there. Believe it!
Yes, all emails starting with, "Help me congratulate blah blah who has joined the Company as SVP"......Stupid over here is now a Director reporting to blah blah, who is now in charge of blah blah......God I love watching this train wreck as long as I'm far enough away.
Easy sleazy, don't knock the Donald as I bet he could fix this place as he's a builder/successful......but I digress. No vision here but short sighted stupidity, upper miss management all arrogant posers & politics, as real talent means nothing anymore here but a check is a check so we stay to avoid the hour & half commute to Burbank. Half day Fridays, a halfway decent gym, nice looking girls, so it could be worse as this beats shoveling snow in EA or Rhode Island Yo. We may even get a football team here soon so let's look at the glass half full. Go MattHell, I'm here for you doing as little as I can :)
It was a creative individual. Not another marketing knucklehead. I think Mattel is starting the see the error in letting some talented people go due to politics.

You know this is true when the least creative department (next to facilities) marketing is positioned to oversee design. Stevie Wonder has more vision. In NYC they tried to hire back someone who was pushed out a few years ago. Apparently that person laughed in SL's face. Pathetic.
