Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

February 2016 - more layoffs.

Probably looking to hit their target as per following the statement " In exchange for tax breaks negotiated in the past, the company agreed to keep 800 full-time jobs in Purchase through 2017."

That line is true, but consider the rest of what they said, which indicates that staffing could go as low as 540. And this doesn't even take into account the continuing cuts they could still make with the remnants of IT at Westchester Avenue in White Plains, many of whom were/are working on nonsense projects that the company would be well advised to cut anyway :

"In exchange for the tax breaks, the company has agreed to keep 800 full-time jobs in Purchase through 2017 although the company would only default on the agreement if staffing levels fell below 540 jobs, county spokesman Phil Oliva said. As of the end of last year, the company had about 1,100 full-time jobs in Purchase."
