Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

Layoffs in GOM Wireline??

I heard there would be layoffs in GOM wireline, especially in the technical advising group. Anyone hear this? I can see it since the manager (who most people dislike, who is never at work, and is seen as a joke) told me he was trying to hire people to his team the other day. I thought, "seriously? We are laying people off and you are talking about trying to hire more people? You should be let go and whoever is letting you make these decisions should be let go."

I just wanted to see what others had heard...

Wireline has so many people and hardly any work. Complete joke. Their openhole service is abysmal.

Sad thing is - no way to prove the corruption. They are smart about it, that's for sure.

you people talking kickbacks don't work in the GOM,or work for HAL. Kickbacks just don't happen, too many controls for that to happen,BUT THE TECH MANAGER Bill Secar is a true ASS.

GOM is corrupt. Lots of sweeping things under the rug.

As a vendor, trying to do business with GOM is very difficult as there are so many people demanding kickbacks. Even procurement in Houston has it's fingers in GOM kickback system.

The GOM is one of the mismanaged in Halliburton

And as a whole Halliburton is a very dysfunctional comparison.
