The last thing Qualcomm needs is another blow hard Curry Head. Give Steve M a chance to right the ship.

Plus, you would need an outsider to make the painful cuts that the Q needs. With the existing leadership, these cuts and trimmings are "cute", but really not nearly enough given the current business climate. Too much nepotism and red tape for the existing management to make the required cuts. So, all it will take is one more screwed quarter for Steve to be out, and some outsider to come in. Frankly, there's not many good mobile wireless executives. So it would make sense for Sanjay, who has the background in QCT. Plus, he doesn't seem to be tapped yet by any other company.
Some say he was spotted on campus. If true, Why else would he be there? There's no way he would be taking a lesser role as a General Manager or VP.
