No, it's not nearly as bad as CHK. CHK "leaders" preach transparency & open communication, then practice nothing even close. They leave everyone to their own devices to be terrified & clueless about what might happen, but still expect them to perform at their best.

Also, having the meetings one on one at least shows some level of respect, as opposed to herding large groups of people into conference rooms like cattle to slaughter. Any questions asked regarding what was happening were just answered with, "You'll receive an email explaining everything at a later date." Cowardly.

I agree. I love their transparency on the issue. It stops the rumor mill, and most people at Devon said they felt peace after the announcement because they finally knew when it would happen. Nice play by their management team!

Gotta say, DVN seems to respect their employees. As hard as it is to write a letter like this one, it seems to be as open, transparent, courteous, and respectful as it can be. CHK just filled the campus with gun toting thugs and acted like nothing was happening.
