You are all out of your minds... There will be about 3000 job posted in the ESP, and about 4500 candidates, all functions included. It will be a chance to high grade, as the company is downsizing.

1400 jobs to be filled in ESP. This number does not include the out of scope slots, just those to be filled in the ESP. There are nearly 6000 posting for those jobs. If you connect the dots, CNAEP is taking the brunt of the "1st half 2016 staff reductions". ETC and overseas BUs taking the 2nd 1/2 2016 hits. So yes, while the companywide percentage cuts are relatively low, the % cut from CNAEP will be much higher. Jeff's bonus this year will be bigger of course. Amazing to me how difficult it is for people to get their heads around this reality.
DWEP alone is posting 50% of ~1,460 jobs (~950 blue badge and the rest green badge). Contractors are not allowed to apply for their jobs and 60% of the contractors are let go. The rest is deemed business critical.
But you are right the numbers Thurston was showing and telling us about on Thursday do not add up.
1400 jobs? There are roughly 1700 in the SJVBU alone. A reduction of 15% of positions is taking place, leaving about 1445 positions. 60% are open (867). That would mean only 500 or so jobs would be available in the other BU's across CNAEP. Those numbers don't make sense.
Chevon is cutting 6000-7000 from 2014 to the end of 2016 across the company. Project RAE and Alpha already took place. There are over 58,000 CVX EE's worldwide. Chevron is cutting about 10% of its workforce.
Thurston said there would be more jobs posted then returning expats. If 50% of current work is in scope and there is a ~10% employee layoff. There will be 40% of current employee jobs plus all of the contractor jobs so theoretically if all contractor were let go almost all of the current employees would have jobs. If they are qualified and post for them.
Around 1400 jobs with around 5500 posting for jobs. Around 4000 to be let go.
