Bob most definitely is still around and rightly so. What people don't understand is that the retail landscape is changing, not just for staples, for all retail. Retail will never die, but it will certainly take a different shape in the future, and unfortunately for those of us employed in retail, it will be a smaller landscape. Somebody has to deliver the news, and somebody has to make the cuts. If you want to stay relevant, than look to yourself for change in changing times and stop looking to blame the "bosses" who unfortunately have to deliver those decisions. Anyone who truly knows Bob Wolfe, knows that he cares about his people and these times tear out his heart.

For anyone to say anything like these posts about Wolfe, you are just crazy. He's just doing his job. I've learned a lot from him and like him a lot. Time to stick up for some good people instead of bashing them.
He's still there, unfortunately,
Bob was the RVP for my former store. He wasn't the worst from what I've read here about other RVP's. At least he seemed to treat people decent and my associates always thought highly of him. Though he did have a lapse in judgement when we had to post crazy power point made flyers all around the store. The desperation was real. Ugh that was painful.
