Niobrara - Bad or Terrible Decision

Isn't it funny that most of the people in charge of making the decisions have moved on? Fabricated type curves, significantly lower D&C assumptions, and incorrect economic premises all make the company believe that keeping it is a good decision. COP should have taken any offer that was made. Sucks there are so many good people there that have to idly twiddle there thumbs while the manager of doom (Norway, GCBU), the french croissant, and the idiot production manager make bone headed decisions like keeping it but without drilling?

Asking questions about poor decisions or questioning spirit values and how the company follows them will most definitely get your ass canned

Which asset is the worst in L48, 1chm?

As for people who have driven Niobrara into the ground, don't forget fat panda, Mama K, the really bitchy geologist supervisor.

Pretty much anyone who spoke up about the fraudulent behavior that goes in in L48 has been laid off, or demoted and left to rot in career hell. Whistleblowers are punished. Niobrara is bad, but it's not the worst in L48.

QGB - Many of those who were vocal in Niobrara got laid off. Besides, who would you approach if you're seeing your supervisors and managers making incorrect decisions? I know my supervisor is closed off to alternative views of the asset's value.

If you saw things that were harmful to the company why did you not report them when you observed them?

Hey now, don't forget the esteemed Niobrara Land department. They get paid at a technical salary rate, yet can barely read or understand basic concepts. The other groups who actually do real work might have a chance to get things done if they didn't have to hold Land's hand through every task...... Or at least more time to play putt-putt in the office and bemoan their sad fate.
