Cisco Marketing Layoffs in November 2015, January 2016 - Rumor: One cut in February 2016

That's the rumor, February 2016 and I think it'll be April, we'll have to wait a bit before things settle down - they pulled whole bunch of job reqs of the site, stopping hiring is the first sign that cuts are coming, not sure when though. KR and MM in OOS were let go even though always were strong performers...

2 Blue Badges having Outstanding Performance year after year, positive peer support, expanding technology skills, basically they were not slackers... Both, 1 male and 1 female, were from DMN within the SP Video TAC were told Jan. 23rd that their last day is Feb. 3, 2016. Also, TNCS Engineering development team (20 or so), plus SP Video TAC managers selectively choosing an individual from their team; typically that person was one who "stood out" uniquely by learning more, having ideas, etc... In other words, if you don't act like a sheep, you will be removed from the herd. Interestingly enough, an employee of 15 years received the termination notification by way of a WebEx Meeting with Video Conferencing. The manager did specifically include a statement during the "in person" WebEx termination notification meeting that "the decision was solely made by him".

I am a 16 year Cisco veteran and very proud to work for and represent Cisco. I have found nothing but the highest of ethics and integrity with a proud culture of supporting customers success. Not sure what you are referring to on "dire shape" . We are running strong, setting the pace for IT innovation and constantly reshaping the company towards the future. Are we perfect, no. Do we get it right all the time no, but we do the majority of the time at the expense of our competitors.

They lay off a bunch of older workers then take 200 VPs and Directors to a week-long offsite to create org charts and determine strategy. There is no accountability.

I work in sales and I think Cisco is the best company to work for. They pay well and provide great benefits. Look around at all the tech companies out there. Everyone lays off and just about everyone leverages contractors.

What most are not aware of, is CISCO has 70% of its workforce as contractors. The 35000 employees is touts is only FTE staff. In total, head counts is over 100k.

They keep billions overseas to avoid taxes and are building a cheap labor empire.

They state they cannot hire Full Time Emoyees due to recent Health Care costs. Hard to swallow when there is so much money sitting idle in Europe.

They will only hire college grads on Cisco IT, and if you have grey hair, I wouldn't bother thinking for 1 minute you'll ever have an FTE opportunity.

The corporate caste system in place is not conducive to quality deliverables in the contractor realms. Most contractors are not paid to industry standard and do not have decent health care options. Point being CISCO doesn't want to pay the vendors to In turn pay the staff appropriately.

So the business' continue to prevail while those doing the work are not on same playing field. They ask a lot, but you are segregated from many events. Lots of "fun days" as they are called for FTE's while the contractor force continues business as usual. In an epic morale crushing move, there was a fund raiser 5 k walk. Contractors actually had to pay more money to walk for the charity that the employees did to participate. They send email out for all these events with a big tag line "Full time employees only".

Nice that a communications company can't even send out proper targeted information to right audience.

Do not worry if you are in Marketing - that's what they kept telling us... Another problem with the management of this company.

They seldom do what they say their going to do. The lack of integrity and ethics is why the company is in such a dire shape. You can't tell lies and expect your business not to suffer at some point.
