It is happening to every oil company. Devon will be laying off 53% of its workforce in Oklahoma City. I'm not sure how many people that will translate to, but the number i heard was 2300. They have to make a transition plan of some kind. Look for the lay offs to start 2/15 after month end close and to continue for three days. It's coming guys and it is not going to be fun. This is the date. Many will not believe it, but this IS THE DATE. Mark your calendars. You have two week to get things in order. Pack up your belongs and take them home. Enjoy your last two weeks. Who will get it?; Well that is a different question. IT, Marketing, Data Management, Land and Accounting will get very, very hard. If you're not a team player or have a crappy personality, this will be Devon's opportunity to part ways with you. You know who you are. You made your bed and now you will have to lie in it.

I'm actually not a troll and heard the same thing at my gym from Devon attorney
The actual percentage will be 150% where Devon hires Anadarko people and immediately fire them to prove how tough they can be.
This was posted on Devon's layoff.com page and called out as BS by Devon employees. Not say there won't be layoffs, but not this magnitude. This poster is a troll.
