With the number of Staples stores already being closed expect to see more closings as the retail division which originally created and drove the business is now the weakest link in comparison to the contract and e-commerce divisions. Any downsizing in the contract and e-commerce will most likely be linked to any moves to go to third party resources. All will be a major effort to cut overhead cost to save face with stockholders and open the door to be purchased by Amazon as they will then have similar platforms of operations.
