Just curious, if Hal is so bad, why are folks waiting to see if they survive each round of cuts rather than taking control and jumping off the rotting ship on their own. I have reasons of my own for holding out, what are yours?

Sherman, "I'm holding out til I land a super sized eurest hottie" This is the best answer I have ever seen and I am dying laughing right now!!!!! LOL
Like Sherman I want a surest hottie but I am a little different. I have my eye on the guy that drives the sweeper buggy. I really like swinging that way. Later.
Tell me yours and I'll tell you mine
Because there are no other f#&ked jobs!!!!!! Do you have brain? Think man!!!
Nothing better than the free 40..to bad it's not the old 54 though
Damn right I sit at home and watch TV if they have nothing to do. And I still get paid one week last month I literally did nothing I almost thought maybe I got let go and didn't know it. But I still got paid 40hrs. Don't be mad it is not my system I just play the system they gave us.
field workers don't have to show up if they don't have a run? that's f$%ked up/
To lazy to apply for another job. Right now work is so slow I can sit at home and get 40hrs paid not working, that's not a bad thing. When the gravy train comes to a stop then I will ride out the gravy train on my couch collecting unemployment then I will find another job.

If i resign, I won't be receiving severance pay. This severance pay is useful as capital for my small startup
I don't think Halliburton is that bad of a company. Most major oilfield companies have made cut backs and bad decisions. I do think that Halliburton employees a few (or more than a few) bad managers that have used the downturn to trim employees that should've remained employed and protected others that should've been cut for personal reasons. Why I stay is the local job economy in my part of Pennsylvania is horrible due to the coal market dwindling combined with the down oil market. I've been searching for other jobs and I'd have to drive an hour and a half to make half as much as I do now with less benefits. The only exception is if I wanted to drive over the road. I can drive equipment but I'm no trucker. So that keeps me hanging on.
