Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Those in ROM 2, have you recieved your continuation of benefits from ADP for COBRA?

I promptly paid for two months to avoid a lack of coverage.

I called my insurance provider and I had been dropped Dec 31 2015.

ADP and Talk to HR are less than helpful in providing info.

Is there a lag between when I pay and when chevron provides the remains funds so I have insurance for a few months?

I'll add that everyone should check their benefits for the new year. Some very slight changes I noticed in mine.

As for COBRA,

It took Chevron+ADP 45 days after my last work day to send my package.

It took ADP 14 days to receive and cash the checks (minus mail time).

It took ADP 11 days to notify Chevron that I had paid.

It took Chevron 12 days to notify UHC who had cancelled my policy just in time for my wife to have a baby.

No worries; not like I'm going to pay tens of thousands for a bunch of bills I don't technically owe.

Update to my original post:

My insurance company was extremely helpful today.

They were able to verify recipt of COBRA payment to ADP and FINALLY get through to a Chevron HR rep.

They acknowledge recipt of info from ADP last Monday.

HOWEVER it takes them TWO to THREE weeks to update your insurance company.

Insurance Company was gracious enough to note on my account that an "update" is forthcoming.

So now I can go to the darn doctor.

Thanks for the informative posts.

Thankfully I will be employed middle of next month so this won't go on forever.

I have called the HR line, and sat on hold for 40 min before hanging up.

I will try again.

Another piece of advise to recently laid off Chevron employees, please ensure you terminate any supplemental and dependent life insurance you previously had (if it is your intention to not continue it). I came to realize shortly into my 2nd month of not being on the payroll that Chevron was paying the premium in the first of each month and it was creating an overdue bill to me. I was able to clear that up quickly, but be diligent in reviewing your current benefits. Call the Chevron HRSC or login to the online benefits center from your home computer at www.hr2.chevron.com. You will need your Soc Security number and 4-digit PIN to login manually. Automatic login will no longer work since you are no longer using the company server. Good luck.

Call the HR Service Center at 1-888-TALK2HR and select the " * " option to speak to someone there about your COBRA questions. I'm sure they are very busy will the many affected Chevron laid off employees flooding the lines, but keep trying. Chevron is supposed to automatically send your info to ADP within 2 weeks of your termination date. ADP is probably swamped with a high work load. If you have any medical service, be sure to keep every piece of paper to seek reimbursement once you get set up in COBRA.

I've heard from 4 different people who say that they have had problems with ADP as well. I haven't heard from anyone who hasn't. Very poor service that chevron is probably paying good money for. Keep trying. You might call you're former HR Business Partner to try and get some tips. Can't hurt. Of course keep records of everything.
