Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

Vicado the end?

Does anyone know any inside information about Vicado? We had a web x in SFSO and they said they're hoping a layoff won't happen but if so, mid August. We're all worried and I'm wanting to know if it is going to truly be the end to financial services jobs.

Yeah, I know it is Vocado and not Vicado.

They offer 8 hours of formal classroom vocado training, give you a manual and we didn't start using formally for about 45 days later...it doesn't correctly interface with SRM and some departments still using IS3....one department can't see note nade by another deoartment in SRM still using IS3...vocado viewed via SRM which is mutating by creating unnecessary duplication of tasks for finance advisors who are supposed to manually monitor all these systems and man the phones and perform under ever changing , unqualified management that set unachievable goals for anyone they want to get rid of. A company that is being investigated by the entire alphabet -- HLC, DOD, FTC with non transferable credits and executives bailing with stock options and golden parachutes and is close to buy out with single digit stock prices is prime for layoffs. Loyalty to long term employees is out the door. Everyone should get their 401k retirement funding out of this company while it still has any worth and have attorney review severence agreements and non compete clauses. Use vacation or lose it. If you have 12 months of vacation starting 9-01 and get laid off in Jan you get the unused vacation you accrued for September to time of layoff and if they aren't offering same severance for all could look discriminatory. They take advantage of people being in shock...don't have to sign immediately... take time to review. Sinking ship. Vocado and all their computer systems are incredibly inefficient and the company puts blame for errors on their service representatives rather than supporting them through their transitions and changing strategies and investigations. Caseloads for representatives, massive phone calls and manual processes... any efficiency expert could tell you how many cases, phone calls and case reviews can be done CORRECTLY and in compliance in an 8 hour day. Incredible stress in this workplace.

True. With the new version things that take employees now is done in software. Look now and leave soon.

I currently work in Vocado. The system has many defects and issues. Many of the work reviewed is manual. However I do see the full potential with this system. If I were you you should start looking for other opportunities. Layoffs may come as early as March when they want to "reevaluate resources."

We have to get the new version of Vocado in to layoff staff on the business end. They are already counting on the FTE savings. Can't stop it now. Then Vocado will go into Banner. They know this is NOT the final solution.

Have you seen the system yet? They're starting training in SFSO and said layoffs will begin in March at the start of the quarter

Vocado has more bugs than an ant colony. No way it can handle all of our students without imploding.

If vocado dies when imports of 7500 start, then vocado will be killed off is my guess. Rumor is vocado does not have the servers or bandwidth to support our full student load and usage.
