Key Responsibilities:
Set strategy for adoption and implementation of emerging technologies within global operations and the Technology and Innovation organization with a focus on value realization
Identify key opportunity areas where step-change improvement is needed
Establish and leverage relationships with subject matter experts across MRO as well as with key universities, research centers, and service providers
Facilitate identification of technologies to solve unusual or complex problems
Work closely with the appropriate groups within MRO to prioritize, implement and realize the value of new technologies
Develop novel concepts and approaches to resolve challenges
Represent the company in outside technical forums and societies
Publish technical reports for internal and external use
Mentor developing scientists and engineers
The role will work with the other teams reporting to the VP - Technology and Innovation and across both the Conventional and Resource Play segments teams to orchestrate technology strategy and initiatives with emerging technology partners to build and maintain MRO’s competitive advantage and contribute to continuous earnings growth. This role is also expected to institute strong collaborative relationships with key universities, research centers and service companies to effectively conceptualize and implement technologies that bring step-change advancement to MRO’s exploration and production capabilities.
