The 10 year wait period to get green card and free from h1b slavery is true only for Indians. People from other countries are getting their green card much faster.

I quit early last year, as well. There's nothing left at Qualcomm for engineers who like working on interesting projects. I kept COBRA for 2015, but will change it in 2016.
I did quit in 2015, but not for that reason. However, I did drop COBRA as of 2016 because of the change in the health plan.
OP, if I DO quit, you'll still probably be laid off in March.
Stop drinking free soda and you won't need to use the health plan.
People on H1Bs are stuck in green card backlog. it take almost 10 Years to get a green card till then people are stuck.. After 10 Years they know shit after working for Qualcomm... Hence they cannot leave... As soon as there is some green card reform, significant number of folks will leave... I cannot speak of US nationals.. They will find a better work culture in any other company....
