The presents we don't have to pay for. While EA and ES have security like SS stormtroopers we in NY are pillaging stock at our discretion, taking product for gifts and saving a boatload of cash around the holidays. The smart ones shop early under the guise of competitive shopping and store their early holiday shopping items in the back roll out shelves. No security checking in with military time. No scrutiny, just shopping at our convenience on Mattels dime. Even UM is doing it. We are the privileged and you are not. Happy holidays!

Theft in the NYC has always been commonplace. We're a bit more laxed then buffalo or the police state that is ES. Besides, who's gonna stop us?
Oh get over yourselves! Are you really going to feign disgust over some employees taking a few cheap toys - prob for family gifts to save on a few bucks (oh the horror!) in defense of a company gone off the fails failing the very employees that have helped build it up? This same company that have shown loyal hardworking devoted employees the door because of business decisions so egregious it redefines stupidity and greed. Don't worry, a few stupid insignificant toys might even things out for a few people. Not really. If you kid yourself for one second that the entire company has not at one time or another taken one goddam toy out of that building for any personal reasons then you really are living under a rock. Most of the higher ups have figured more subtle ways to take product when needed. Ask any vp or director in the NYC office! But remember what the big picture is all about. Hypocrites.
That's too funny as ES has Nazi SS as security guards here. The only people who can just walk out with final packaged product are VP's & up. A SVP needs to sign a property pass for any other scrub to take home anything. Around 5/6 years ago an engineer switched out a Hot Wheels toy that he had worked on for another toy of the same value and he was promptly fired. Yup, Happy New Year for the same old s..t :(
This is what makes Mattel great around this time of year. The holiday break when we get to take a step back from the poor leadership, low morale and understaffed office and get some much needed breathing space away from the office to recharge the emotional batteries and great ready for the same thing next year.
Sadly, I have seen enough of my fellow employees take product (both competitive and FP made) from the office for holiday gifts. It's a longstanding practice from what I understand, that has been going on before mattel bought fisher-price and fisher-price bought whoever they were called before that. There is no security in the office at all and the building security has nothing to do with us.
When I see threads like this I always hope it's a joke. I hope that I don't actually work alongside such immaturity and gross behavioral displays; that the problem is truly with the leadership and the rot doesn't fester at all levels. It would be embarrassing to call these "adults" colleagues.

I think its done at all locations. Even though ES and EA have security as long as your in the samples dept. you'll get whatever you want and just take it home its what we do now anyways.
What I find amazing is that the comments (which are true) are more half assed than the original poster. NYC dummies. Not EA. Learn to read. Maybe then you'll be able to read the writing on the walls in our failing company.

I knew there were dumb people in EA, but this takes the cake. Stealing is one thing; bragging about it in a forum that Mattel monitors is a whole other level of stupid. Hope you're caught, fired and they press charges. This is why the rest of Mattel thinks EA is filled with dumb hicks.
Continue to steal & pilage freely as Mattels' executives have been stealing from the company the entire time and still getting stock options, bonuses & huge boxes of free product as well. Take what you can while you can. Kinda reminds me of the poor paupers in A Christmas Carol stealing Scrooges personal belongings :)
considering how educated consumers are these days it's no wonder both are equally shunned. On the other hand if you can get some quality competitive product on mattels dime and use it for gifting later on then you sir (or madam) are a friggin' genius!
