Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

where were all the 500 from?

500 is a lot, where were they all from? It would seem only a handful of people here and there, which areas were hit the most as it's difficult to figure out the loss of 500, seems more like 100.

From what I heard, just over 100 were impacted in the US. That means cut because of zero protection for employees. Elsewhere notice was served on hundreds more which likely brings us up to 'just under half'. Still means 500 and a bit to be hit in Jan.

Yeah my feeling to was that only a small number were let go in Nov. Not sure on that though, just didn't seem like many people got hit from what I personally saw. They are probably waiting for January since that forces everybody to use their accrued PTO time since we can only roll over 1 week for 2016 (at least in the U.S. that is how it works) .

from what I know only 100-200 have been let go with the rest planned in Jan. Jan 2016 is going to be worse than it was earlier this year. Hold on to your hats!

Remember most non-US countries have regulated labor laws so in EMEA those effected know and are going through trade union consultations but won't be allowed to say in some countries as they are closed processes. Is the two stage process designed to encourage more turnover to save on pay offs. Some of those EMEA countries have high compulsory pay offs. APAC laws are complex too. Some I believe have been let go but will go in several months as under confidentiality being paid to stay to handover their jobs to cheaper geographies with a financial package dependent on confidentiality and staying the 6 months.

so less than half could imply anything less than 500 and certainly seems like no where near 500 this time looking at the announcements and rumours on here, so possibly another 700-800 to go in Jan?

Mr. Calderoni clearly said "less than half" of the 1,000 were let go this week. That would imply that "more than half" will happen in January.

South Florida Business Journal and Sun Sentinel I believe stated only 50 were laid off in Fort Lauderdale.
