OK, most of them do order taking and there is very little sales going on. Let's keep them. Engineers make our products and things that we sell, so let's see what happens once we stop developing products. I just cannot understand this flawed logic here. Seriously. Can we try to not use sales for a while, I'd bet you there would be no dip in profits (revenue might go down, but overall profits would go up as we would not pay sales folks)... F***...

Sales already took massive layoffs
They will hit them hard - mark my words
By the look on some managers and directors faces they are concerned. More so this time than in Feb.
Quota Based folks were annihilated earlier this year - who would you lay off now?
I would say nobody is safe
Sales and quota based were hit hard last round. Entire departments cut. With the estimated costs of severances much higher this round the majority of cuts are higher salary Eng etc. There is little left to cut in the quota based folks.
