Sorry, Rickey Bobbie, Tower gets to wear jeans now too.

Same issues in Houston exist in San Antonio. Incompetant managers at every department, I should know, I am one of them. Young engineers that know nothing and show no desire to learn, infighting among departments, micromanaging at every level, and so on and so forth.

We do get to wear jeans, so maybe we do have it better than the Tower.

You're complaining about complaining with more vulgarity than anyone else. I highly doubt you are as old as you say you are- but if you are trying to develop a causal relationship between online chatter and Marathon's performance and your solution is jeans, you sound like you should be fired for your poor business acumen.

The price of oil doesn't seem to be effecting EOG. You know what else is different about EOG - you don't see their employees b!tching and moaning on websites. You know what you will see, their employees in jeans. Know why? Because it doesn't fu@king matter what you wear to work - as long as you work - and not p!ss and moan online.

I think the company is in its current shape because of the price of oil, not because of people posting on this forum. And what was your inspiration behind the blue jeans idea? Let's dress casually to boost the morale?

The screensavers were an IT initiative and the blue jeans concept came from an engineer - me!

So stop your b!tching and take some responsibility. No, I'm not a skill builder, I've been with this company over 27 years. Hell- tomorrow may be my last day too. But whining on a website is pathetic. We make more money in annual bonus than most families earn in a year. If you spent your time focused on engineering issues rather than crying like babies on this website and glasssoor, maybe we wouldn't be in this position.

I guess I need to practice for my next job. We all know there isn't much out there.

Every time Tillman speaks stock plunges. That's a fact. Anonymous200789 doesn't seem to be too upset about that, so must be a relative new hire with not much LTI to worry about. I don't think the company needs to worry about a handful of disgruntled employees posting here. They have larger worries, like Tillman running the company into bankruptcy.

The Board should wake up and layoff the CEO.

Layoff? That doesn't align with our core values.

It was nice working with you all. Marathon used to be a great place to work until the new exec team rolled in. Lee's portfolio management strategy, Sult's lack of hedging, and Deanna's ruthless RIFs have destroyed a once great company. Unfortunately the board has failed to rectify their poor choice in a management team and tomorrow will be another blow to the Marathon employee psyche.

Anonymous200789 must be in HR. How's that blue jean pilot-test going? The screensavers were a real boost to morale as well. I love being told "Leadership is not a position". It's a reminder that eventhough Tillman has the top position, he exhibits a total lack of leadership.

I am aware I could get the axe! I just don't see the point of getting on here and bad mouthing a company that has paid us all.

Adios Anonymous200789... let us know what you think after you have been laid off because of your company's decision to become a low-margin, unprofitable shale company.

I hope all of you here berating those of us who are 'talking tough' - Anonymous200789 that's YOU - realize that the company has made its bed and will lie in it. Our attitudes will have zero affect on the company for positive or worse. Why you think that is beyond me. The analysts and the 'street' hate Lee Tillman. We have nothing to do with that.

My job consists of basically masking my contempt for the assholes in charge. I have a director that spends half a day reading the Wall Street Journal while the manager surfs the internet all day. Hopefully they will both VSP, but the next up in line for their roles are a click of know nothings and do nothings. I really hope I get the TAP tomorrow so I can move onto a less dysfunctional company!
