Now Mattel has huge layoffs, spot layoffs, and rolling layoffs. VPs actually tell their people that it's never over, they're never safe, if you don't like it there's the door. Benefits are cut. Health coverage costs you more. Less from Mattel in your 401K. Less severance pay. Workload goes up with fewer employees. Laughable mediocrity rampant through clueless management at all levels. PLM. Did I miss anything? How the hell is any of this conducive to creativity? How is this inspirational? Why should we care about this dreadful place that has become a senseless, futile, fear-based, cringe-worthy testament to management arrogance and ignorance? How the hell did we get here? Management's highly visible and never-ending parade of blunders does not inspire confidence. It does not INSPIRE in any way. Zero accountability. Untouchable fat cats failing upward and getting rich no matter what the outcome. You hear me, Dickson and up through Sinclair? Do something that shows you care, do something that shows you respect us, do something that inspires us. Be leaders, not C-suite cronies. Nothing will improve until you do. I had hopes that some of you would do the honorable thing where you don't get paid anything until after you turn the place around. The fact that nobody did speaks volumes. If you don't have confidence in yourselves, why should we? Mattel has lost major talent and continues to bleed. It's disgraceful that you allow that to happen and worse that you just don't care about it. What will it take to make to understand that Mattel is not just a commodity business? We are a passionate, talented, creative family. The people of Mattel are a resource to be nurtured and inspired, not ignored and threatened. We need hope, we deserve better than the current depressing culture. What can you do to make things better?

If you're waiting for those guys to have some kind of epiphany anytime soon you're deluded and deserve your misery. I agree, send them an email yourself or shut up and do something about your own culture. If you're looking to get handed a "new culture" package then good luck pal. The rich don't get richer by giving back.
know what I can't stand confused? your wussy post pleading to Dickson and Sinclair like their demigods up on high reading this drivel. shoot them an anonymous email from your local library. go on investor sites and anonymously post the goings on at Mattel and let the folks that those ass clowns pander to know what's happening. if you get stock options vote no on their appointments. find another job. do something other than whining about it here. this will get you nowhere.
It's been apparent for years now the that fat cats at the top of this place could care less & are in just for the big pay checks. AND, they're stupid. I've been saying what was posted above for years. It is not the place it once was when this place was a fun, creative, place to work as it got worse year after year. This whole place turned into the Ass Kissing Club. Incompetent, insecure VP's surrounded themselves with their no talent sycophants & there you have it. If you're not in the AKC, you not meant to be. You may survive but you won't get promoted or credit for your talent/contributions. The AKC members will steal the credit, thank you very much. Happened to me many times here & I saw it happen to others as well. If you speak up or push back to champion your Design you're labeled a loose cannon with a bad attitude/hard to work with. That's where the set up process starts. Then you get a bad/unfair useless TRACS review which I never signed. Can't wait to see Q4 numbers/shell game.
Confused--- very well said. At the end of the day isn't this about creating the joy and memories for not only the kids of today but generations to come? The simplicity of play and the imagination it evokes and inspires--we have lost our way. It has become about the finances and not the kids. What a tragedy.
