Thread regarding Marathon Oil Corp. layoffs

Politically correct facts

Does anyone else notice that our new management spends half the day patting themselves on the back for being the "premier leadership team?" Am I the only one doing PowerPoint decks for my supervisor to present a politically correct version of facts to Lee or ExCom? I tried to give Lee important info once but was denied after sending a PowerPoint request with the 3 Why's. What a crock of sh*t. We are suppose to request permission to request an audience with his Highness. Speaking from experience, don't waste your time.

Has anyone taken a good look at how many HR manager/executives it takes screw in a light bulb? They're all 6 figure base + employees which serve no value. Education, advancement and talent management…..??????? for what and to whom. Department is weighted too heavy for what it's true survival function needs to be ( payroll, benefits and those to handle the layoffs). The manner which these layoffs were handled is out on the streets and the oil field never forgets!! ….…… they should trade them all in for a good PR firm. Marathon reputation is in the toilet. I agree, let's flush this toilet and get it over with. Maybe a a hostile take over will ease the pain.

I hate to burst your bubble, but it's like that everywhere no matter what industry your in. If you're in a midsize to large company, odds are, you aren't going to ever speak to the CEO directly, unless it's casual conversation passing them in the lobby or something.

You are correct. I have noticed that Lee Tillman surrounds himself with 'yes' men. I guess he feels that he doesn't need to know 'the truth'

Its now know across the industry that marathon treated employees like criminals during the layoffs and how inept this "premier leadership group" is. Even recruiters are aware of this and know they will have to overpay their future technical staff. Marathon has become the ugly girl that no one wants to date..

Spoken well. Management would have to stoop down to listen to a worker bee. Seems it has always been that way with Marathon management.
