Seeing posts that suggest this. I thought they just have the mass layoff event in oct. or are they continuing to lay people off but on a smaller scale right now?

Some of us who EOI'd are still working but have a specified last day in the near future.
What till you see the shit that's heading Farmington's way.
Clingons...is that what Captain Kirk and most dogs try to keep off their arses?
Yes indeed there will be! Probably before the end of Q1 as COP has top get you off the books quickly. I imagine that as COP suffers greater losses the separation packages will become less appetizing but who knows, the way the ELT makes decisions they will probably increase the payouts in hopes more people will EOI or retire early. COP like ExxonMobil has what they refer to as "Clingons" (pun on Klingons). These vermin are usually the less talented but often more sociable employees (what they lack in intelligence they try to make up for in GAB). They are part of the Good Ole Boy culture and will help you pack your box to get you out faster; they cringe at the thought of losing their jobs because they know the do not have the skill or talent and/or proper education/experience to land another job. These intellectually challenged SOB's will say they want to EOI and that they are ready to get out of the rat race but when it's time and they have the opportunity to do so they become eerily silent, cower in the corner, and shit themselves silly with fear, avoid them whenever possible as it will benefit and possibly prolong your career in what ever industry you serve because these roaches infest all organizations. These layoffs affected more rank and file employees rather than managers, directors, and executives (imagine that). Yes, I know some managers were affected but they were not part part of the "Network" and only had associate membership or they pissed in someone's corn flakes at some point in the past and are now feeling the effects. COP is a doomed company, it may last for a time but it will eventually be acquired, merged, absorbed, parted out (gutted out like a tuna), or simply go bankrupt and attempt reorganization. Whatever the case, those of you who got laid off, EOI'd, or early retired consider yourselves lucky and be happy, find a job that makes you happy whatever that may be. To the grads, stop whining, you got screwed, so what, so did many others and they too possessed education equal to or superior to yours; wisdom beyond yours; and most importantly experience, which you do not yet possess! You are young and will get hired somewhere else as your degrees are valued at more employers than just COP. Hopefully you will find employment where you can actually get ahead without giving it!
Glad i am out of Conoco...i was let go in October (last month)..and have found a very satisfying job... much better than COP and more stable....... these layoffs at COP will continue until oil recovers upto $60 WTI.... ELT will keep looking for excuses for layoffs... good luck to all current conoco employees..
Yes and more to come in Q1
