Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

Now that we have all these deans at every school, I am trying to figure out why we have all these directors still.

I would actually like to hear from directors here. What do you do. You call in every day, the same goes for finance managers and academic managers. What purpose do any of you actually serve? You cover for one another. When one is off, the other pretends as though the other was there. You log in from home here and there for 10 minutes to act as though you are at work. How is this fair to hold enrollment, finance and academic advisers to attendance standards which you people do not even take seriously yourselves. I would love to see HR and the executive board actually have all these people aux into a phone like any other employee does. I would like to see them actually run reports on these people to see how often they really do show up. They will see that they could fire 9 out of every 10 manager and directors at this organization and it would have zero impact on any daily operations. On top of it, none of these people will take escalated calls. They refuse to! They push the student back on the adviser with no answers. Advisers are forced to lie out their aes to cover for the inadequate systems and procedures this 90's platform of a school is running. How about fixing the fking computers, outlook, SRM, IS3, ecampus and every other failed pos slow running pile of sh*t system you call an online platform. How about cutting the dickhead off that is making 27 million and paying out no raises to the people that keep this boat afloat. How about providing the same healthcare coverage to the people which you offered them just three years ago instead of stealing from them by reducing your contribution. People will work for you if you treat them right. Take some lessons from Virgin Atlantic. Unfortunately the higher up at this cess pool will never get this concept and they ship will sink within two years. It is too bad that you are so slow to making changes. Oh well, I can always find another job. You on the other hand will not find another school which pays you absurd paychecks. Good luck cleaning the counters at your local Circle K after this gig fails.

Well Billy, I see why you are no longer a f*&king leader, you have no spelling or punctuation skills. How is it working the Circle Jerk down on Van Buren? Heard you give hand jobs out in the lot around 2.

At one time i was in a leadership capacity in the organization. I was at a campus that was phased out so i feel your pain. Although I Do not know the specific leaders you speak of and am not so familiar with the culture in phoenix, i tend to disagree. As a leader, my intent was never to decieve my team, my intent was to help students, and i actually believe we made a difference. It saddens me to see posts like this that imply all leaders are lazy and dont care about thier people. I do agree that ones with the traits you describe may be in the wrong positions. Please take into consideration that they are people also, not just gears in a macine. In this case, a macine that is fajling because of government pressure rather than the quality of education and intent of management. Thank you

The fact is we really don't care as employees. Your complaint is just a tear in a huge bucket filled with pity. The school is so corrupt and disorganized within, you are just lucky you are not already sitting in a collections status. This is what we do to you complainers. The more you complain, the less service you will receive. Do you think we like dealing with idiots who only call about money everyday, f for what, your bad choices! There is this thing called the internet, use it. Do your research next time instead of looking for a babysitter to hold your hand. Camden, before you chime in with the unequal rights crap and racist s%&t, f&#k you in advance.

@ 3 year student--you are f***ed. Hahahahahahaha. Your diploma is phony and employers will laugh at you when you submit your resume with UOP listed as the school you "bought" your fake degree from. Oh, you won't get any student loan relief from the Federal government, but you may have your loans paid by Apollo Education if a court finds in your favor. I'd see a lawyer and drop out of your program immediately. Good luck. Tell your fellow classmates to drop too and see a lawyer. Hurry before it's too late.

I noticed that your reply seems as though you are an employee of UOP or Apolo, and now I am more than concerned. I have been a student of UOP for 3 years now, almost half way through my Bachelors degree as a matter of fact, and I am beginning to think that I was not told the truth. How am I supposed to go on supporting this school with my financial aid? With all of the layoff's, why haven't I seen a reduction in my tuition? And why do I have to pay $80+ for access to the same materials that I used for the last two classes? My only hope is that we get a pass like the students from the Corinthian schools. As an employee you should take on the responsibility of putting this out there, and making internal decisions that don't make sense public so we know what we should do in the event of the school collapsing. Don't let us get caught up in their greed!

Not all managers are lazy, bad, corrupt whatever else you speak of. I'm leaving by choice, and my manager has been supportive since day 1... If you knew his name and all that he did you would think twice about saying ALL managers

I cannot wait for the day when I walk into a Circle K or a Taco Bell and run into one of these overpaid lazy managers working minimum wage which is probably more money than they deserve. If the people on top want to save the sinking ship they should be looking at how worthless these people are and making cuts accordingly.

This is ALL true. Directors and managers are suck ups and incompetents. Many will be getting her pink slip soon. This place is a bolier room and not an institution of higher-learning.
