Guys, I volunteered for the severance and I'm getting really nervous. I've been applying for jobs since last week and haven't gotten a single call back. I have a BSM from UOP, and maybe that's the problem. I feel like I made a big mistake! Any advice?

Jobs are out there. I was part of the layoff that happened in June. It was a shock. My wife was pregnant and we were closing on a house. As soon as I got in the car to drive home, I called my friends and family to let them know what happened. I went online and applied at places that fit what I wanted. I went to job centers to help with networking and to brush up on my interviewing skills as well as beefing up my resume. I was blessed to land a job two weeks later with an awesome company that fit everything I wanted. My suggestion is reach out to everyone you know. Contact local job centers near you. It will be tough, but if you continue to work at it, you will find something. Good luck!
I was laid off on July, had started looking a couple months before. All in all in took about 4 months to land a job that I wanted. They are out there, keep looking

There are so many jobs out there right now hiring for January. Use your networking skills to have an ex-employee get you a job. There is no ARC to help you, this time you have to actually work for something.
@055 - Most of those I know who left it took less than 10. Phoenix's have great talent that many other companies cannot afford to train for. Use it as your leverage to become employed.
Ok average, I was told it takes 80-
100 applications to land a job you are looking for. So keep plugging away.
I have been looking for a job since July and I have a UOP degree and about 15 years experience. Don't expect to find a good job overnight, it will not happen.

Maybe you should have considered not volunteering, until you actually had a job lined up you idiot.
Say you went to Harvard. When your employer finds out you lied just cover the lie with "Harvard of online schools." Cite the movie "Internship" for that one.
Aw cmon, you morons pretend its any different for your graduates....
Just silly talk!
I know this will be hard to believe, but I did start out at Yale. I had a scholarship but dropped out after my first semester. I got really bad into drugs and just couldn't keep up. I ended up in Phoenix living with some addict friends who were working at UOP and they said they could get me a job as long as I could sell. So that's how I got my start here. I got cleaned up and I'm ready for something new but I'm still nervous.
Just be patient it's only been a week and can take some time
Just lie and say you went to Harvard. At least the recruiter will give you props for not presenting that bullshit degree from UOP.
Invent a time machine, go back in time and make better choices.
"Anonymous197046" and "nervous" are the same person posting crap to feel better about himself (or herself). It would be sad if it weren't so pathetic.
you would actually have better luck just claiming a degree from a legitimate university and hoping they dont check rather than trying to get a job with an obviously fake degree
