Thread regarding Noble Energy Inc. layoffs

Employment Attorney in Houston

Team - would someone be able to recommend a strong and aggressive employment attorney here in Houston. I am not going to go into any details here as I am concerned that I may harm my chances in court - I do strongly believe that my termination was not properly as it should have been - I think I have a very strong case here. Thoughts?

Do not sign your severance package (time sensitive) if you plan to sue. Start talking to lawyers right away. I too know two people who have won their case! Good Luck! Go get'em

Actually Noble is under investigation for laying off employees without properly notifying them. I received my letter in the mail a few weeks again. I was blessed to have left that place way before the 1st round of layoffs. But will do everything in my power to assist Karma 😉

Oh grow up - a company has no obligation to its employees - they can hire, fire, layoff at will.

The company has an obligation to their shareholders and that is it.

I do know of a previous employee who won her case against Noble. No one can judge if you think you have a case or not. Its definitely your right. Go see a lawyer, and they can tell you if you have a case or not. The above 2 people are not lawyers. Good Luck. I hope you get what you are looking for.

The only valid case is a case with the EEOC. Receipt of the right to sue letter from the EEOC is license to proceed with legal actions. The lawyers will not talk to you until after you receive the right to sue letter from the EEOC. And if all of this is new information you have quite a bit of homework to do prior to proceeding. And as noted you must prove discrimination associated with a protected class. At the very least do file with the EEOC to note the issue. No obligation to sue after receipt of the right to sue letter but the process is very expensive to the company due to the number of lawyers involved.

You probably don't have a case at all. They can fire you or lay you off for ANYTHING! Unless you can prove you were discriminated against and you are a protected class of people. Good luck with that. Trust me these HR and management weasels are good at covering themselves. I feel for you though and wish you the best. It sucks for sure.
