Who will be included in the 20%, maybe 30% that I've heard will be laid off. Tenure shouldn't equate to "keeping your job." There are hard working people at Citrix, that doesn't include many top level managers. Many managers wear a badge that reads "I've been working at Citrix for 10, 14, 19 Etc. Years." ... AND? What value, new ideas, or solutions are you bringing TODAY NOT 19 years ago. I see top level managers frantic and unsure if they will be on the chopping block. Managers who rearly comes in to the office are now there bright and shine and actually working. But nonthelese, it's unfortunate so many people will be out of work. What's more unfortunate is the employees who should be "let go" will get to keep their job. Sometimes it's not what you know but who you know. SMH.

Yep they have publicly talked about spinning off GoTo family and in July talked about possibly selling ByteMobile. In Elliott's initial letter back in June telling Citrix what they should do (their opening shot in their move to muscle onto the board) they talked about 1) reducing channel partners, 2) reducing operating expenses from 65% to 55% or 54.5%, 3) they criticized the sales and marketing structure, 4) stopping speculative R&D, 5) they wanted to shut down CloudBridge CloudPlatforma and ByteMobile, 6) sell off GoTo family (no mention of ShareFile), and 7) explore the sale option of Netscaler. So we already knew about GoTo and ByteMobile but XenMobile is sort of new to that list (if true) and reducing operating expenses, consolidating channel partners, and criticism of sales and marketing departments all point to they want to make cuts their (although they would probably call it streamlining with is wall street douche bag term for layoffs). Will just have to wait and see what actually happens ... something is happening (they have been pushing for it since June) but what exactly is open to debate.
Earlier in the year they were officially talking about trying to sell ByteMobile
Hearing GoTo's are definitely gone, along with XM. Most layoffs from those teams. Sad.
NS, XA/XD relatively safe, but some surgical cuts here and there. Beware of upper management reshuffling (already happening), they are only looking out for themselves and their buddies.
@Anonymous197956 - I agree with you. A 6-month warning (with the usually ubiquitous severance package of what, 3 months usually?) is good enough to get things in order. That would include retraining and execution of the worst case scenario - leaving Florida for another job. People, pay attention and use your time wisely. Don't waste it in reciting jeremiads. Be quick of action and smart of choice instead. If you get a 6-9 month window, use it wisely.
Interesting Iknownusing
I would prefer a layoff that way any day. Giving you 6 months warning to find a job.
Mail for some regions in APAC is that the big bosses are coming to let the team know of the layoffs for next year some time. People will work until mid next year then be wound up once Costa Rica comes online.
i'm willing to bet my left nut that that slimy POS Rizwan Pirani will still be around when the dust settles!
Citrix most always does their dirty work before making an announcement to the investors. Hopefully they can say something like "since mark completely missed the boat on mobile work ideas and our products sucked more than everyone else, we have to destroy some families" that would be the honest press release. We all know that won't be said but it's worth laughing they tried to shove One Citrix down our throats to utter failure. The divisions were like oil and water, one was lean and agile the other a mess of middle management. In the end both took on bad habits of the other and failed to deliver any new products that anyone would pay money to use.
% or exact number and closures will be announced.
Sack notice probably be the day after. Or over time who knows about that part.
Please define "announcement." Just that there will be X% layoffs, divisions Y and Z to shut, etc? Or will sacked individuals actually be given their notice?
it will be internally announced the day before or during tuesday.
One thing is confirmed. Announcement will be the 17th. Now if they do it before or the next day remains to be seen.
There is difference between "opinion" which is protected by the first amendment and 'insider info sharing' which is not legal - if you posting insider info you may be legally liable for that - it's easy to remove 'insider info' - you cannot stop people from having opinions
There is quite a bit of racists posts here, nobody did anything about it. We had one post where somebody claimed 'insider info' - that one got nuked.
it was only a matter of time before the race card was played by an h1b proponent...well done.
The other one got nuked because it became just racist talk. I didn't see anything in there that isn't posted in other threads.
Agreed. The rumors are running amok. There might be something to them (considering the other Citrix thread that was completely nuked out of the sky by someone with enough pull. No one nukes threads like unless there is something to hide.) People really need to make peace with the facts on the ground - software work is unstable. Just deal with it. Plan for it. Assume you will get hit with a SHTF layoffapocalypse every 4-5 years. So use the first 3-4 years to build a cushion. If nothing happens, just keep building your cushion because sooner or later you will need it. All this panic is just because never thought it would happen. That's just the shape of things in the software world. The sooner you embrace that shit and roll with it, the more at peace and prosperous you will be (I'm beginning to sound like Yoga or something.)
Just another person who claims to know or have info.
20-30%? It seems these figures/rumours get bigger everyday. I hope you are wrong.
