This place is worthless. For those of you who didn't take the severance. Good luck! You'll be wishing you did at next earnings call.

That point of view is at best myopic. Here are facts, NOT opinions:
** New ER within 6 months had 24, 22, 17, & 18 students in REG from her 2nd to 6th month & laid off "last hired." Not many vets have seen those numbers in years. She did this December thru March, the slowest times of the year!
** Apollo Group Stock Price: 4/23/2004 - $95.91 / Nov. 11th, 2011 - $47.29 (when I started) / Nov. 16th, 2012 - $19.51 / Nov. 15th, 2013 - $26.12 / Nov. 2014 - $30.02 / TODAY - $7.80. If you cannot see the trend here, then you're a blind loyalist ~ which is fine if you want to trust this organization.
The layoffs are not about who can do what job per se. They are getting rid of costs - but also throwing in disciplinary problems where instead of terminating them for cause, the layoff protects them from possible lawsuits from those employees they want gone. keep thinking it's about performance & you'll be next to go. The current management is only all in because what other choice do they have? They just need enough people to string along through 2016 & then only "hope" they get things right in 2017. There's at least 4 more layoffs coming, 1 each quarter. You'll see.

They only let go of high wage earners or people who are horrible at their jobs. They keep the worthless ass-kissers, however.
Agreed. I've worked here for 6 years and 90% of the time the people that get let go deserve to be. The other 10% just made a dumb mistake. I got a job offer 10 days ago and cant wait for some free severance cash. Can't wait to leave you lazy whining freeloaders.
More often than not, the ones that are on WW suck as humans, or did something really stupid. They wouldn't find reasons to terminate if you were good at your job. Why would you want to work somewhere that you know doesn't want you as an employee? I never can understand that.

Layoffs are ALWAYS a way to get rid of management irritants without having to go through the normal progressive discipline process. Those of you with a history - documented or not - of conflict with your manager are very much at risk.
Of course it is. The worthless ass-lickers are saving their mangy hides and "inventing" demerits to terminate many of us.
