I am very concerned about China's entry into the DRAM market. I don't think Micron can compete with the low wages and government subsidies that are going to come with it.

Totally agree with the previous post. Lower level employees are worked to death while worrying about layoffs. Meanwhile the good ol boys are untouchable. Micron has a very talented workforce but is offset by some terrible managers. I know a higher up manager who knew one of his reports (also a manager) was bad, but admitted he could do nothing about it. Micron desperately needs to clean house with management. But this will never happen until there is a buyout of the company or corporate leadership is massively overhauled.

We need a review survey process for supervisors and managers. We have the same old" been here forever that's why I was promoted " managers reviewing the same old" been here forever so that's why I was promoted" supervisors. That ancient thought process is why there are so many unneeded management personnel in this place. The "uppers" take care of themselves, and the "lowers have to jump through hoops to justify why they should keep their jobs. Why doesn't this ever change?

The supervisors and the manager feel that they really don't have to follow company policy regarding a number of different issues that arise over the course of our work week. Extended breaks and lunch hours and terrible attendance. Job creation for no reason to appease a coworker who is a complainer and premadonna while most of the rest of us are held to another standard. Imagine all the different areas in this company operating independently from what they should be doing. That's how some of these Managers get so much power and how their heads grow so big. They really think they are something else. Everyone needs to be treated equally! My former supervisor did not like one of our engineer which - he (Engineer) is very professional, dedicate to work and works very hard, so my supervisor encouraged me and other to write a bad feedback about him which I did not do. This is kind of managers/supervisors which are surviving and are still working.

It is unbelievable that Micron has come to this. Is there no one in a position of authority that has the integrity to put a stop to this? I don't mean taking an occasional personal phone call and stepping outside the area to answer it. I am talking about walking into the work area talking or texting on the phone and openly being on the phone all day texting, internet and even porn all day EVERY DAY!I have been with Micron for many. many years and this is jus ridiculous; really shameful. There are too many employees with basically nothing else to do.

Too many management staff in micron. Who do not actually contribute. They just know how to do their personal things during their work, going to fix their cars, shopping, dentist and more...!

At most companies an employee getting caught doing personal business on company time gets some sort of disciplinary action or termination. Why does Micron tolerate this kind of behavior? Is there any management person that can answer this?

It is not uncommon to surf web using micron network during working hours. Watching football matches, you tube, news and etc..... nice working place to work in. Get paid to do private stuff during working hour.

Thank you Micron for letting me on my personal phone for eight hours every day and paying me for it. It is sure better than it used to be when I actually had to work here to get paid. That's what I call a well run company! This place is a f---ing joke!!!!!!!!!

Micron technology! Stop promoting people to supervisor and manager positions just because they have been here since dirt!!!!!! Interview qualified people! If you can't find any then open it up company wide. Restricting the talent pool means the same people keep applying over and over. Get some new blood in here. How can anyone not know that? If all you have to pick from are people that are not the best, then go find the BEST QUALIFIED wherever they may be. There are thousands of people working here! Think outside the box once every ten years, For Gods sake!

I'd like to take this time and say.....F--- YOU to Micron. They sent my severance check almost 3 months late after they laid me off and are now f---ing around with the labor department fighting me on my unemployment. Micron is trying to eliminate any further unemployment benefits for me and my family, that's pretty damn scummy Micron even for you.

Well, gambling is illegal and if you are doing it on company time it is also stealing. That's what is wrong with it.

12 years of education managing Engineers with BS, Masters, and Phd's is a Perfect Example of the basic Micron philosophy. In addition, they are too many...... If you can survive the yearly layoff sooner or later you will automatically be promoted. Wow! What a way to pick leadership!

Micron needs to demand more from management personnel. Managers and supervisors in this place need to be held accountable for the amount of money they make compared to what they are often actually required to do. Micron! You are not getting your moneys worth!

Micron's management is “organized” that employees out of management positions are being laid off and too much managers/supervisors are still working. Micron wake up…!!! We want change.

Micron is too management heavy. Just like everyone else, we need Managers and Supervisors, but when the operation doesn't merit that high of a position to complete our work process they need to to be

let go like everyone else. Their cost to the company for a Manager position is quite high.

Lots of people standing around in my area so much is has become the norm. Why is Micron running so "fat"? Most of our jobs are being sent overseas so they can't be waiting for the miracle day when we all of a sudden become busy again. We have been told specifically we will not be busy anymore, so why all the excess employees?

Why do we come to work every day and have only about a couple of hours of work to do the entire day? Why is everyone allowed to spend their entire day on their Phones all day? Why in the hell is this company allowing its employees to do this? I just don't understand.

Just a correction; not all Managers and Supervisors supervise two to three employees. Perhaps you misspoke. However if you are aware of this happening except for a few rare exceptions it appears that the company is trying to keep some leadership employed. There is really no reason for Managers to be doing the work that a supervisor can do. No oversight. I have also seen this in different departments over the years and it seems to be a growing problem. Who is looking at this and making proper corrections? Nobody; and no one will. AGAIN, the good old boy network at work. Everyone sees it ; nothing will change.

Several years ago Albertsons was going through some restructuring and they reduced the number of store directors and had one store director manage two stores instead of just one. A couple of directors managed three stores. At Micron the supervisors and managers are supervising two or three employees! Employees! The store managers at Albertsons manage two or three hundred people, plus vendors, customers etc. Micron runs "fat" spends a ridiculous amount of money on Management people they absolutely do not need. If a supervisor can do the job, why put a manager in that spot at a higher cost? This company over pays the management staff and the hourly employee gets no raise for years. Can someone maybe rethink that? My Manage who has an upstairs office 30 feet from where I work hasn't wished me a Happy Holidays in eight years.

Even if your a highly paid skilled professional, Micron will look to replace you with a new college grad. People do retire from Micron, but it is rare.

Unless you are a highly paid highly skilled professional in this company you are going to be crapped on until your position is filled by a temp for less money and no benefits. Find a way out before they slam the door on your butt when your walked out. Don't be foolish by letting Micron decide your future.

HR IS THE WORSE AMONGST THE WORSE of .. Its all about how you are aligned with senior leaders in that department. If you are not constantly watching your back and s---ing up to the upper leaders you are toast...... I am lucky to have found a way out.... good luck !!

HR will tell you that you can be re-hired, but I only know of two who actually were. It may depend on the area but from what I've seen, it takes an act of god for it to happen. Especially in DRAM.

Is it my imagination or does it seem that there are a lot of people leaving? In the last month I have worked in three different areas, and in every one the people there stated that they are seeing people leave for different reasons. Coincidence, or am I missing something?

There are other businesses in the Boise area that pay and provide benefits comparable to Micron. If the volitility of this business gets to be too much over time and it seems to be that way for many that comment, there are other places to work. Micron is not the end all for work in this area. There are going to be more layoffs------Period. It will always be that way. That's why they are replacing permanent workers with temps. They just get rid of you. Easy. If Micron doesn't want you, other companies are out there that will appreciate your value. Don't let this company scare you into thinking you can't find something better.

There is no reason;None to have a night shift in this area absolutely no work to do at night. If it wasn't for being able to do homework at night and get paid for it I would quit! What kind of company works like this? I get my degree soon and I am gone. This place is too weird. Just like throwing money in the garbage.

I work in a small dept that often flies under the radar. The supervisors and the manager that work in this area feel that they really don't have to follow company policy regarding a number of different issues that arise over the course of our work week. Extended breaks and lunch hours, terrible attendance, especially by one specific person. Job creation for no reason to appease a coworker who is a complainer and premadonna while most of the rest of us are held to another standard. Imagine all the different areas in this company operating independently from what they should be doing. That's how some of these Managers get so much power and how their heads grow so big. They really think they are something else. A small area is often overlooked in a lot of ways and the people in charge of these areas get to feeling real good about themselves. Let one person go to HR and report what's going on and see how fast things change. A few of us are about to that point. Everyone needs to be treated equally!
