In January they're doing another layoff with no opportunity to volunteer. Severance will be two weeks regardless of length of service. If you're thinking about leaving EVER, now is the time to go. There's no fixing the enrollment problems this University is facing. Take your 13 weeks and run!

January? Do your research, UOP has been RIF for years always Nov , then again after Memorial day( June or July) always felt bad for the folks who got laid off before Christmas.
They have already eclipsed the total number in my dept. Now we have to see who will win the UoPX lottery. I think the losers should at least get a cool pop.
Historically, as a business contracts, the early severance packages are almost always the best. Don't be fooled into thinking you will be "taken care of" if you are laid off next month or next year. Act in your own best interests, with your eyes wide open.
