Weatherford does not believe in redeployment and retraining apart from the VPs. So they have separated almost 20000 people but have hired 4-5 thousand so that's how the numbers are adding up.

sounds like someone is not looking at the actual reports. it said in the quarter 3 report that they had finished the 11000 total and there would be an additional 3000 putting the number at 14000. sounds like someone is just messing with the people.
20,679 total headcount reduction over what time frame? I thought 14,000 was the expected layoffs during 2015?
What I think most people have heard were these official #'s:

end of 2014: 56,000 on payroll

end of September 2015: 42,800 on payroll (~ 5,000 are rigs employees + 37,800 are core business employees)

Plans to end 2015 with this much on payroll: ~ 41,000 (of which core business employees make up ~ 36,000)
