There's someone whose last name sounds like Heisenberg who habitually gives out low rankings... Hope he rots in hell

Anonymous191136, do you read? Don't be the dickwad and read the post by Anon189789. He is spot on. You have too much confidence in the ePMP and rank sessions. Management's "friends and family" insiders assign the ranking to everyone. Getting a -2 or 3 doesn't necessarily mean you are deserving of that rank. If you are outspoken and ask too many valid questions of management, THEY reward you with a lower ranking to get rid of you. I really think you are a dork or maybe even one of those supervisors who know their subordinate is better than they are. The ignorance in this place is astounding!
if you are a 2- or below you shouldnt have your job at chevron dickwad
Anonymous189792, seeing the friends and family gang getting fired later on without a severance package would be the karma they deserve.
789 is spot on. In fact, when the smoke clears, the friends and family gangs will be the ones fired without packages.
Don't believe the uninformed person who tells you that you won't get a severance payout if you rank below a "2". That's completely false. Getting a lower than "2" ranking may be the reason for you getting laid off, but you WILL be paid your severance and other benefits per the Plan. Most employees already know the ePMP and Ranking sessions st Chevron is a farce. The rankings given by management only serve the "friends and family" bunch. If you are not part of the in-crowd, then your ranking will suffer. But don't worry about it, if you tossed for the so-called "lack of work" reason, you will get your payout in the Severance Plan. I know what I'm talking about.
Thanks for this information. If I ever got a 2- or below, my understandings is that you should move on with your career at another company. I was trying to determine should I give my 2 weeks notice or wait around for a severance package at the next ROM or RAE.
If you get a 2- and are let go for performance issues, you do not get severance. (More than likely you are or were recently involved in some form of Record of discussion (ROD) or Performance Improvement Plant (PIP). There is a difference between this example and the recent RAE exercise......
If you are terminated, whether by ROM, RAE, or whatever process, you get the severance package. Chevron executive management had approved the standard severance program thru 2016. See the post below by Anon189398, that is accurate.
pop rating has nothing to do with severance, however, severance is not required or guaranteed but rather a voluntary payment by the company
You should get the axe for not knowing.
What is the difference between a ROM and the lay off exercise (forget the acronym) as it relates to severance packages?
Yes, if you are laid off for lack of work (the default reason for getting the axe at Chevron), you are eligible for the involuntary severance plan. Two weeks pay for every year of service (prorated to the day). Minimum payout is 8 weeks and maximum is one year of salary. Aside from this payout, Chevron will pay for your earned, but unused vacation days. For anyone whose official termination dates extends into 2016, even by one day, is entitled to be paid off for their entire 2016 vacation allowance. That's sweet.
Sweet!
Yes.
