Thread regarding Noble Energy Inc. layoffs

God still rules.

About this layoff at Noble… We have to remember that God is still in control. This is not to say that bad things won't happen to any or all of us working here at Noble. No employee is perfect...no manager is perfect...no company is perfect. I am thankful for the job I've had as long as I've had it. I am praying that I don't lose my job. I am praying for others. I am praying for the company, and I will continue praying for all of us. I can say this now in this arena, because nobody can turn me into a HR for saying what I'm about to say but this is the truth and I think it's time all of us were reminded of this. The Bible tells us that we will go through horrible times before Christ comes to rapture the Christians out of here. I am a believer and I have tried to conduct myself as a believer while working at this company and in my life... Because my real job is not working for Noble. My real job is to be a Christian and try to spread the gospel of the good news of the salvation that Christ offers. God is the only hope for this economy. God is the only hope for our nation and God is the only hope for the world. Whatever happens to us in this world, if you are a real Christian, you know that you know that you know that God is in control and that nothing that will happen to you is going to devastate you. This layoff is hard. Being out of work is hard -seeing your family suffer because you're out of work is hard and the only way we can get through this is by committing our lives to Christ and letting Him carry us thru the storms. Some of you will figure out who I am. It really doesn't matter right now. What matters is what each one of us does with the rest of her life for the cause of Christ. John 3:16

You don't have to be religious or believe in God to agree with the basics of what this poster is saying: This is a tough time and we should support each other and help each other through this as best we can. Help those that are hard working who just want to earn a living for themselves and/or their families. Build your co-workers up, don't tear anyone down in order to boost yourself up in the eyes of the decisionmakers. That type of behavior is obvious anyway. What will happen in Greeley or Denver has already been decided...best to just make the best of the situation and do the right thing.

Be nice, be tolerant, every one can have their view no need to name call. Noble has gotten far away from the views of the founder of this once great company. Greed has taken over, where there is greed there will be failure.

Save it, ding dong. Not everyone believes as you do. Try to have a little respect for people who think differently from you. And, please don't turn this thread political or religious or you will ruin it for everyone.

Taking someone's thoughts on what a lot of us have grown up believing, on what makes up the basis of most folks' moral fiber, and demeaning it...

Thanks, asshole!

Enjoy your extended vacation.
