Thread regarding Education Management Corporation layoffs

Congress does NOT block Obama gainful employment rule or other protections against for-profit colleges!

www.appropriations.senate.gov Another legal loss for EDMC this week. They should have spend $$$$ on teachers and facilities instead of lawyers and then they wouldn't be in this unethical mess.

And do you think the "non-profit" schools get their money? high tuition, student loans AND guaranteed government money to fund their institutions that you DON'T see in tuition....that is the real racket

For profits are good at something at least. Stealing money from the taxpayers! Do the employees of EDMC know that they are actually stealing money from themselves?

Agree that it isn't just a for-profit issue but EDMC takes 120 million of taxpayers money a month and has obviously earned the scrutiny after a decade of known fraud cases - across the board.

I hope this affects "non-profits" as well because their gainful employment is awful as well. Many state schools barely graduate 1/3 of their students. This isn't just a for profit problem.
