One day we'll wake up and we'll find this news in our email box: "GE acquires Halliburton" - mark my words, the rumor will become truth

An acquisition of Halliburton by GE would be fantastic. My Halliburton Stock would be worth a lot more. It really is all about the money. Having been bought and sold by Baroid, Dresser and finally Halliburton, I have learned that if you think it is your company and look in the mirror you will see a fool looking back. Take care of number one, do a great job and never be afraid to move to the better opportunity. No company will value your contribution until you leave. Once you leave, your contribution never happened. Do not get stuck in your last, best job ever, like Halliburton Senior Management. Where will their next move up be outside of the Halliburton organization? You already know both the answer and the problem.
Well idk how hard it was for any of you to get your university of phoenix degrees but is it college grads in the field? Is it college grade on the floor producing? Well anyway good luck
Also military does not equal university. I could not give a crap less about your service.
It would be a dream come true if GE bought us.
GE would get rid if the community college grad.
Thank god GE has a hire Uni grads only policy.
To all these old farts whining about us millenials, Before you call all of us arrogant or dumb sh!ts. Just remember who is banging your daughters and gonna make you grandpas one day. Instead of belittling us also remember whose the one that raised us. That's right it was all of you. But then again some of you are hillbillies so your own sons are probably the ones banging your daughters. I guess if your IQ is around 85 and you are missing some teeth you don't know any better. Enjoy retirement!
Well to the pompous milliniel windbad. Don't break your arm patting yourself on the back just yet. You let it get any leaner and they will walk your arrogant little ass out that front door to
This is why decisions need to be made by the educated. The guys lacking a College degree feel inadequate and fear inferiority. I saw a camp where those lacking degrees were managing the place, and laid off the best people first.
Why? Because the best all had an education and were threats to the technologists. The old guard relishes the talk of experience. I find the use of this word to be a crutch in their social safety net.
It's the collegiate personnel riding on a degree that is taking companies down the wrong road today. Last I checked there wasn't a course on how to be a roughneck. There's a ton of situations in the field that only experience can teach you the most sensible resolution. I consider new grads with less then 5yrs experience in the field un-educated when it comes to O&G. Let's work in the warehouse and get an online degree and your still a dumb box of rocks compared to "old farts". There's nothing a university can teach you that a roughneck's job entails. Instead of bashing them you should be listening and learning. With that said your a complete dip$hit in my book.
This company sucks rednecks make the oilfield the brains have no idea how to bust ass and work what the f--- do you when something breaks on location and you cant get parts or tools for days that's right see that group of guys with snuff rings in there back pocket who can fix any f---ing thing that's right call me or my friends the old Halliburton rednecks why don't you call that new pgl oh that's right he don't know shit.
It's not the old timers at fault son, you grab onto that because that's an easy conclusion to draw and the retribution makes you feel good. You threw the baby out with the bath water li'l fella. The feelings of misgiving should be directed towards your management and their party of influencers, which is convenient because most of them survived the cuts. So, where do we go from here. Which is the way that's clear. Eh bub?
When you can't even spell the word "damned" correctly I rest my case. There is nothing hardly I could learn from a bunch of roughnecks. They are for the most part irrelevant. Like I said earlier Halliburton will be drastically reducing their need for uneducated manual labor in the very near future. Why do
You think more and more we are replacing aging manual equipment for cnc's in virtually every facility. Why are we investing millions still to this day on technology even in the face of massive layoffs because technology is the future not a bunch of inefficient whiny old farts who have either been laid off or are probably going to be shortly because many of you have overly bloated salaries the same as upper management and beyond the occasional tribal knowledge you no longer are of any use. You are aggravated at me because you know what I'm saying is true and you can't deal with it. Which is why I stand by my comment that you all need to retire and let the new blood take over. Yes there are a lot of younger people who are idiots and just want a cushy job and large pay. But because of old timers like you the really good ones don't have an opportunity cause all we have to hear from you is how "back in the day we did it this way" well back in the day everyone also rode around on horses so let's just stay in the 1800's right?
Ya isn't Nisku about to close up shop. Cause that's what I heard. Because you all were a bunch of morons.
We cleared out all our millennials in Nisku, and now have community college in management. We'd be $#@&ed if GE took over. That's why it would never happen.
The snot nosed kids that GE hires have no clue as to what they are doing. They have never run a machine, never got there hands dirty, mom n dad paid for their education. Yes you little arrogant asshat there is a lot that you can learn from these "9th grade educated rednecks" So when something fails I hope that they turn their back on you. Cause danmed sure wouldn't be so motivated to ensure that you had the right tools for your job.
Well I guess it's a good thing that I am a millennial with 2 college degrees. If you weren't smart enough to go to college and get a degree at some point in your life that's your fault. Times are changing we don't need a bunch of roughnecks anymore. Technology is going to revolutionize the oil industry in the next 10 or so years. The days of paying 9th grade educated folks $150,000+ a year are soon to be over. I'm Not trying to be a d!ck but this company is not what Erle P. Started anymore. Oil is only going to be harder and harder to extract as the years go by and it doesn't make financial sense to pay people $150,000 to do what machines will be able to do on their own soon. Like I said maybe if you got a degree you could be the one pushing the buttons in the future if not, well then it's probably time for you to retire anyways. I know I sound harsh but there is a mindset in this company that all the oldtimers are the smartest in the room simply because they are old
Timers. And as a result this company has become stagnant in hiring smart young people. A company like GE could change that.
ge is one of those tech companies that only hire college degree geeks
we be out of a job n replaced by millennials
I didn't realize Halliburton was in the finance industry.
Companies that are culturally different. One trying to get out the finance industry and be technology focused, and another run by an accountant and aiming for short term profit.
We can only hope
