I heard there will be massive layoff on Dec 17th and 18th. Any info about that?

Would not doubt it. There are Oil tankers lined up in the Gulf waiting to unload. Which means no need to drill new wells because there is no storage left for what we got.
It's not over with yet......
Probably depends on which department you are talking about.
