So demotivating seeing this and worst no one dare correct them. Such managers should be part of layoff.

PTE hardware director does it and he doesn't even give credit to engineers who came with ideas. The fen thing his boss gives him power to continue doing that.
1wgh: I'm sure one could get more satisfaction from a blow-up doll than the wives of PJ and SM. But then certain managers with small "pencils" probably need something to bolster their low self-esteem.
There's a way of picking out the patent whores just by looking at the Patent application.
My director does that and his boss thinks it's funny.
If they dont do this , how else can they secure their job. They put pressure on employees to file patents and include their name(even if they are not contributing anything), give promotions to their buddies( who even go to exptend of helping them in household chores like picking kids from day-care, making food).
Hope QCOM keeps them. That's the best insurance I have of never having to work with them at my new job--which so far doesn't seem to have that problem with managers.
