The latest global gossip is that Delhaize corporation will be buying WFM.They currently own Food Lion and are looking to get a foothold in the rest of the US.This comes from the mouth of a global team member . All team members will be required to interview for their positions. Everyone from Stl down to bagger. Global and regional flunked will get golden parachutes and move on to other companies. This will happen by Jan 4th...which seems to be somecsortvof deadline that Wfm has set.You read it here first .

Pure garbage! Whole Foods may be in play, but any changes in personnel will start from the top down and will take months. Besides, who will do the interviews if all jobs are at risk?

I have heard this too.The Jan 4 date gets through the big sales of the holidays. I understand this has been in the works for nearly a year.
Not sure about the Delhaize thing,but several Stl and a number of regional types have given notice that x mas eve will be their last day.This jibes with an early January change of ownership.I work in a large region near the mid atlantic🤔

I'm sorry, the 'consultant' on this thread wouldn't use terms like 'golden parachute'. You'd know better than that if you're actually working as a consultant.

I work for Delhaize as a consultant .The proposed purchase is simply for stores in the Eastern US. Regions that cover New York through Florida. WFM will sell as regions,not as one unit .This allows for multiple buyers and maximum cash return to finance the golden parachutes.It will be done by early 2016.This will be my only post as to not risk my career.I think those concerned should know.
