QC is in bad position with Mediatek attacking low ends, and Samsung, Apple, and Hauwei supplying their own top tier phones. Intel is not going give an inch on tablets, servers, and IOT. The question is not how QC will growth, but how it will defend its existing market share.

the dirty secret is they can not account for the small chinese manufacturers that do not use QC chips. They often do not pay licensing royalties, and since there are many of these companies the impact is substancial. Q is trying to downplay this with investors as much as possible as the money likely will never be retrieved.

Don’t forget one thing, licensing fee in China. As phone makers resist in paying the licensing fee, they can avoid unit count by not using QC chips.
