Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Qualcommers, move on with new inspiration as all lay off is over. Get back to work with high motivation from Monday.

Be careful about disclosing internal information and if you have any question about Qualcomm future plan and so on, talk to your manager instead of wasting your time at this site.

There are people who are already laid off in March, but haven't been told yet. If they can't divest QCT expect another round announced then as well.

The only reason to stay is the parking will get better.

If truly the layoffs are over, let SM announce it unequivocally in all-hands. HR and line managers know jack. i realized after i left QC and joined another company that managers and even dirs in QC are just rubber stamps that exist to do the grunt work of collecting and writing reviews for upper management. Your promos, who to fire, who to hire .. pretty much any decision that matters is made by VP and above.

How would a manager know anything? Please.

The layoff news was announced here long time ago along with Murthy departure while all managers were denying any layoffs. Soon you will see Qualcomm spin off and split as they were already announced here as well.

Ya. The insurance at QC went from one of the best to one of the worse. What a joke. Really shows QC don't care about their employees and the families who support their employees working crazy hours away from being a parent.

OP: As if my manager cares about answering my questions. He's probably too busy kissing VP @$$ to keep from getting RIF-ed in the next layoff. Besides, the Layoff.com has proven more reliable over the past year.

As per Maslow hierarchy, unless basic needs are not satisfied its impossible to keep employees motivated .

With no pay hike, almost zero bonus and minimal RSU, increase insurance premium, low job safety ...do you think any one can motivate employees?

Every one wanted to stick with qcom became of job stability but once that's gone its hard for anyone to keep working for it with motivation.

5000 person layoff rumor was first broadcast here. If u talk to your manager or HR they will just say "everything is awesome". People who read this site had a great chance to plan their life after Qualcomm before the SHTF

Lol talk to your manager....who is equally clueless about the financial state of the company and is also unlikely to survive the next layoff round

Qualcomm is the #3 U.S. company to lose value this year. Walmart is first, Exxon Mobil is second and Qualcomm is third with tens of billions of dollars down the toilet! And with South Korea and other countries investigating Quakcomm for possible anti-competitive behavior with possible massive fines as a result and Samsung offering a chip superior to Snapdragon and Jana Partners calling for the spinoff of QCT and more layoffs and cost savings, you call that inspiring and motivating? Go drink more Kool Aid!
