Top heavy, under performing, over compensated, obscenely greedy, attention deficit focused, silver spooned chairman QCOM doesn't stand a chance against mean and hungry competitors like Mediatek. Apple, Samsung, Huawei, and soon Xiaomi wil be using their own AP's.
Qualcomm management is a joke when compared to other companies. It is surprising that the shallow, top heavy, reward each other attitude was not flagged as much in corporate gossips. All 2nd level management and beyond do no work and enjoy top end salaries and bonus.
"perfect storm" is kinda generous - takes any fingers away from them. But what about senior management's lack of ability to find other successful business areas to diversify the business - was that part of the storm? what about lack of foresight to go to 64 bits earlier? what about lack of oversight of workplace to allow slave shop environment to be pervasive within places like QUIC? Not that I could have done better than them, but honestly, if they had just said it was a combination of internal and external factors and here is what we are going to do about the things that are under our control, well that would have had more credence.
