If rumors are true, HR and management should be honest and tell people NOW.
But again, expecting caring behavior from these people is just plain dumb!

Mmm. Actually, a corporation IS considered a "person" from a legal standpoint. But it is not an individual. : )
They will not make the mistake of announcing it 2 mo early again and stressing everyone. but yes my manager said a big one in Jan for sure
Mmm, yeah, management should tell you now so you can sit on your ass for another three months and surf the web. NOT. "The Corporation" is not a person. It does not care about you. There are policies and procedures for most situations. Get back to work!
