Ha. Speak for yourself. Everyone that got let go in my group was useless. I'm so happy!! We finally get to have a strong team and get to hire more strong people!
Most of the people I know being laid off were some of the hardest workers I know. There were a couple low performers, but a lot of good people are being forced to go.
There's too much fat flabbing around as long as Murty remains onboard.
OP is from HR or high on bath salts. No good engineer would join this company after what had been going on in the last year and esp last 2 months. We are left with all day and no muscle. Lots of talented engineers have left in the last 2 months - the bad atmosphere was the final nail in the coffin. Despite the delay they didn't get the layoff right and axed a lot of good people.
No one will leave Seattle or Silicon Valley for a job in a backwater like San Diego. Especially since Qualcomm has all but killed R&D.

I saw there are many better engineers applying at qualcomm today there is a long line outside HR.
