Sanjay is the best of the best in this business and a true visionary. Had Irwin not appointed his son CEO out of pure nepotism ( Irwin's one big mistake) and appointed SJ instead, QC would have been a totally different company today. I remember way back in 2008 when I had just joined qualcomm (this was just a few months before SJ left for Motorola), my group VP had set up a demo of 720P video playback for SJ. This was back in the day when video on mobile phones was still in its infancy and HD video on MSM was nothing less than cutting edge. You would think anyone would be impressed with 720P video playing flawlessly on MSM powered phone back then - but not SJ. He ripped the daylights out of our VP with intense pointed questions on power, where we stand relative to competition and what would it take to enable 1080P . A hard taskmaster for sure, but a true visionary. He was the one who laid out the complete Snapdragon roadmap all the way till Snapdragon 805 - all SM and co have been doing for the last 7 years is cashing in on their RSUs and bonus based on SJ's hard work. It is no coincidence that as soon as SJ's roadmap reached its end, SM, murthy and cristiano are now clueless about how to take things forward. We need SJ back to have any chance of survival.

Those of us who have worked with him know that he was ruthless when it came to executing things. You slept when he wanted you to sleep, ate when he wanted you to eat and pretty much could take a du*p only when he allowed you to. But we would take his lead in an instant. You do not know how you miss leadership till Sanjay left.
Tough son of a gun, but boy did he get sh*the done! Cruise control mode set-in after he left. And here we are.
