GRDPs getting raises while regular folks are getting laid off

How the hell can the company justify giving useless GRDPs raises while folks are being laid off? I heard from a GRDP who works at our plant that he got an adjustment and are making in the neighborhood of $74,000. These guys are useless and contribute nothing to the company yet they are untouchable while hard-working, experienced people are being let go.

This company clearly doesn't have its priorities straight. Just plain sad...

Move over or roll over and die you jealous old complaining twats. If these young f***ers in the GRDP are making more than you, maybe either you suck or you'll end up working for them. In any case, if you're so concerned about pay, go work somewhere else. Cameron, on average, pays 20% less than market value. Damn!!! That means you really suck ass at your job!!!!

@Anonymous156441 not all GRDPs are bad but there are quite a few that should not be employed, or at least employed by Cameron. In addition the biggest causation for the mess in the GRDP program is solely HR. They even let one of their coordinators go and now the lady in charge of Talent Management or whatever her title is (she oversees the GRDP) is about to bail for another position because she knows what SLB will do. In fact the VP of HR needs to be removed...hasn't done jack squat and screwed Cameron over by shoving Carlson Wagonlit down our throats (he used to work for them).

GRDP's are without a doubt the most useless, unnecessary job at Cameron. I understand the idea behind it. However, paying these college kids $60K + a year to do a BS "project" every 6 months is ridiculous. Hopefully SLB realizes what a joke that is and gets rid of everybody involved with that department. After that, they can move to the second most unnecessary job, black belts.

@Former GRDP the reason the salary is important is because having people who are useless and care little about the success of the company while paying them what many would consider a high salary is an incredible waste of resources. We are constantly being told to cut costs yet we have these programs (the benefits I understand) where they are treated well, taken out to special events, invested in, etc. yet are kicked out of the program or let go due to poor performance or simply do not wish to be at Cameron but only to collect a paycheck.

Another reason why GRDPs are often despised is because of their air of exuberance and the fact that many walk around thinking they are "invincible". I can think of a much better way of investing the money that goes towards this program and salary that will improve our bottom line than to continue funding a program that clearly is broken and HR has driven to the ground.

I know a few MMTP grads who are doing well and are the types of people we need from these programs. Sadly we're not getting it from the GRDP and probably because GRDPs are the one's recruiting their friends into the program and HR being the one's running it rather than say the BPC and management that is part of Ops.

I am not arguing that the whole thing is out of control. When the whole program was 20 people, you had quality people. When it grew to 200, more bad eggs got hired. The ones that were let go earlier this year were let go due to extremely poor performance; we had one at our plant. And you won't get an argument from me that there are definitely more they could do without. The point of my original post was to point out how out of touch some people can get, especially when it gets to salary numbers.

Don't worry. When America crashes all the little baby brats won't have a clue how to survive because there will no one to do the thinking or the work for them. Mommy and Daddy will be completely broke and asking them for hand outs. The higher up they go, the harder they will hit the ground.

@Former GRDP the OP is absolutely correct. GRDPs are probably some of the most entitled people within Cameron. There is a reason why a few were let go earlier this year. Its people like those that take opportunities away from those who truly want to be a part of Cameron and progress as professionals rather than sit around on their ass and complain about stuff.

The entire organization behind the GRDP program is a joke and an expensive investment which isn't even worth it. $20mm are spent on the program which is $20mm that should go towards improving plants, equipment upgrades, etc and not on entitled college kids who clearly haven't grown out of the frat boy mentality that exists among them.

You people need to get a grip. First off, worry about your own salary. Secondly, the GRDP's do not make $74k+. I've been out for a year, and with the 10% bump I got after FINISHING the GRDP, I'm at $74k. GRDP's get the corporate raise rate while still in the program, so they would have had to have gotten 3 raises at 3% in the last year to be making that much.
